Abstract
การส่งเสริมการอ่านมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่ง เพราะสามารถสร้างแรงจูงใจในการพัฒนาทักษะความเข้าใจ ทักษะการวิเคราะห์เชิงวิพากษ์ และสร้างวัฒนธรรมแห่งการเรียนรู้อย่างต่อเนื่องซึ่งจำเป็นสำหรับการดำรงชีวิตที่มีคุณภาพในสังคมที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วและมีข้อมูลอย่างมหาศาลผ่านระบบดิจิทัลและสื่อต่าง ๆ การอ่านไม่เพียงเป็นการสร้างความรู้เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการสร้างสรรค์และส่งเสริมกระบวนการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต บทความนี้เน้นอธิบายถึงความสำคัญของการส่งเสริมการอ่าน การรู้สารสนเทศ และการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต นอกจากนี้ยังมีตัวอย่างงานการศึกษาและโครงการหรือกิจกรรมที่ส่งเสริมการอ่านเพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการรู้สารสนเทศและเพื่อปลูกฝังการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตในบริบทของประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ
